The People Operations Manager, Systems & Technology, is the operational owner of CloudFit’s people technology ecosystem and provides critical payroll continuity support. This role is responsible for Workday administration, HR systems optimization, people analytics, process automation, employee lifecycle transactions, data governance, and payroll backup capability.  

We’re looking for a motivated self-starter who can take ownership, work independently, and thrive with minimal day-to-day direction. The position partners across People Operations, Employee Experience, Finance, and Technology to support scalable, compliant, and efficient people processes. 

What You'll Own 

People Technology & Workday 

  • Serve as the primary functional administrator for Workday and accountable owner of the operational system of record. 
  • Own workflow design, governance, testing, release readiness, configuration, security coordination, integrations, enhancements, and vendor support. 
  • Troubleshoot issues and maintain system documentation, access maps, SOPs, and escalation paths. 

Payroll Continuity & Operational Controls 

  • Maintain proficiency as the designated payroll backup through periodic parallel processing or testing. 
  • Support payroll validation, configuration, issue resolution, controls, audits, business-continuity documentation, and escalation procedures. 
  • Maintain accurate records, audit trails, process controls, and compliance documentation while safeguarding sensitive data. 

People Data, Analytics & Governance 

  • Build recurring and ad hoc workforce reports, dashboards, and operational metrics. 
  • Monitor data integrity, complete audits, maintain governance standards, and translate data into clear leadership insights. 

Employee Lifecycle, Automation & Improvement 

  • Design, configure, and administer employee lifecycle business processes, including onboarding workflows, performance review processes, hire-to-worker setup, job and manager changes, compensation changes, transfers, promotions, and offboarding. 
  • Implement practical automation opportunities, including AI-enabled workflows, to improve accuracy, service delivery, and capacity. 
  • Lead process mapping, documentation, and cross-functional systems improvements while providing day-to-day technical support. 
  • Support the ownership and ongoing improvement of SharePoint and the employee intranet as part of CloudFit’s broader people technology ecosystem. 

What Success Looks Like 

During the first 6 months, you will: 

  • Establish clear ownership of Workday administration, documentation, access maps, support channels, and priority improvements. 
  • Demonstrate payroll backup readiness through documented procedures, training, and successful parallel processing or testing. 
  • Assess critical processes and establish current SOPs, controls, audit trails, and escalation paths. 
  • Standardize priority workforce reporting and begin implementing high-value automation opportunities. 

During months 6 through 18, you will: 

  • Improve the reliability and scalability of Workday workflows, integrations, releases, and employee lifecycle transactions. 
  • Deliver dependable dashboards and operational metrics that support leadership decisions and data-quality management. 
  • Implement practical automations that reduce repetitive work and improve accuracy and responsiveness. 
  • Sustain tested payroll continuity, current procedures, and resilient controls across critical people processes. 

Longer term, this role will help People Operations operate with greater accuracy, resilience, and scalability through well-governed systems, reliable data, and thoughtful automation.  

What We're Looking For 

  • Five or more years of HRIS, people systems, payroll, or People Operations experience, with a background centered on technical systems ownership.  
  • Hands-on experience administering Workday, including building reports and configuring employee lifecycle processes such as onboarding workflows and performance reviews.  
  • Proven ability to independently lead and own Workday implementations, upgrades, integrations, and business process changes.  
  • Experience supporting payroll processing, validation, controls, and issue resolution.  
  • Strong reporting, data analysis, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.  
  • Demonstrated initiative, practical judgment, and clear communication, with the ability to set priorities, work independently, and deliver with minimal day-to-day direction.  
  • Ability to manage sensitive data and maintain strong operational controls.  

Preferred: Experience configuring benefits and open enrollment, carrier integrations, ATS configuration, and broader Workday optimization efforts. SharePoint or intranet administration experience is also a plus.

The salary range for this role is $95,000 - $130,000 + benefits & perks.   

Please note the national salary range listed in the job posting reflects the new hire salary range across levels and U.S. locations that would be applicable to the position. Final salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s final level and location. Also, the range represents salary only and does not include our total rewards package.
