CloudFit Software is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to work directly on increasing quality, performance, and reliability of the CloudFit Managed Applications and Services systems. Our SREs help maintain accountability of production workloads while making it easier to run modern applications and services in the cloud. Responsibilities: 

  • Monitor and maintain the production health of managed services and applications, responding to escalations and driving repairs to prevent future issues 
  • Collaborate across platforms to improve reliability and maintainability of systems and processes 
  • Develop tools and automation to simplify and enhance the reliability of scaled services 
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with project team members to deliver high-quality solutions from concept to production 
  • Write clear and maintainable design documents and code that emphasize quality and simplicity 
  • Participate in design reviews and code reviews, providing constructive feedback 
  • Design systems with a focus on customer experience and reliability 
  • Adapt quickly to new technologies and methods, applying them to improve processes 
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and drive simplification to improve operations 
  • Embody company values by leveraging the work of others and supporting their success 
  • Support customer sustainability through on-call rotation as needed  
  • Travel up to 25% to support customers in air-gapped environments 
  • Must be able to report on-site in Lynchburg, VA  

What makes you the perfect fit for this role:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience in software development 
  • Interest or basic understanding of cloud infrastructure and/or software design, development, or scripting using languages such as C#, JavaScript, Bicep, PowerShell, or similar
  • High level understanding with cloud infrastructure and services, including Azure, AWS, or GCP, with hands-on experience in deploying, managing, and optimizing cloud-based solutions
  • Interest in distributed systems and working with high-scale services 
  • Enjoys tackling technological challenges and problem-solving 
  • Desire to grow both personally and professionally as a teammate and an engineer 
Some nice haves (but not required): 
  • CompTIA Security+ certification 
  • Active Federal Security Clearance

The salary range for this role is $44,000 - $100,000 + benefits, & perks.  

Please note the national salary range listed in the job posting reflects the new hire salary range across levels and U.S. locations that would be applicable to the position. Final salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s final level and location. Also, the range represents salary only and does not include our total rewards package.
